High Altitude Indoctrination
This course covers all the material required for the High Altitude Indoctrination Course (HAI) as required by Transport Canada.Carrier.
HAI training is required for all flight crew members operating aeroplanes above 13,000 feet before their first assignment on a pressurized aeroplane and every three years thereafter.
Physiological phenomena in a low pressure environment, including:
i) respiration;
ii) hypoxia;
iii) duration of consciousness at altitude without supplemental oxygen
iv) gas expansion and gas bubble formation.
v) other factors associated with rapid loss of pressurization including:
vi) most likely causes;
vii) noise;
viii) cabin temperature change;
ix) cabin fogging;
x) effects on objects located near the point of fuselage failure; and
xi) actions of crew members immediately following the event and the likely
resultant attitude.
Certificate of completion is included. One hour is required to complete the course.
